The law firm of
Adams, Theisen & May, located in the historic Clinton
House in downtown Ithaca, New York, since the mid 1970's,
traces its roots to 1935 when Armand Adams, a graduate of
Cornell Law School, began his law practice in Ithaca. The
firm continues to be a leader in the fields of estate
planning, estate and trust administration, elder law, real
estate law, business law, and related matters, and also
offers legal counsel and representation in many other areas
of law as well. Ithaca is the hub of the Finger Lakes
region of central New York State. Ithaca-based academic
institutions, Cornell University and Ithaca College,
enhance Ithaca's vitality and beauty. Due in large part to
these colleges' diverse faculty, staff and students, the
firm represents a broad range of clients.
Armand Adams, the founder of the firm, was a highly
respected attorney and civic leader. Henry Theisen was also
a long time member of the firm who contributed his time to
many local not-for-profit organizations. Although Armand
died in 1983 and Henry in 2001, the firm has retained their
names in recognition of their contributions and dedication
to our firm, the local bar and our community.
Attorney Michael May is continuing the legal tradition of
our predecessors in this firm and looks forward to
providing quality legal services to individuals and
businesses in the greater-Ithaca community in the coming
years.
